The Arctic Edge Training Center which opened in later 2001, is a state of the art skating facility that is located in one of the fastest growing commercial and residential areas and features two NHL size rinks. Many Olympic greats have called The Edge their home including 2006 Bronze Medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto, 2010 Gold Medalists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, 2014 Gold Medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White, and 2018 Bronze Medalists Maia and Alex Shibutani. The Arctic Edge is home to the newly formed Michigan Ice Dance Academy founded in 2022 by Charlie White, Tanith Belbin White and Greg Zuerlein who train top athletes from around the world in the sport of Ice Dance. We also have a Pairs Program featuring world renowned coaches Jim Peterson and Amanda Evora Will who have been past Olympic competitors, coaches and are talented choreographers.
The Arctic Edge is home to the Arctic Figure Skate Club who offers its members both on and off ice programs. Whether you're the most experienced hockey player or just beginning to skate, the Edge has a program to fit your needs. Arctic Edge is home to Juice Box Hockey - a low-cost program that introduces kids to the game of hockey. We also offer a Learn To Skate program, synchronized skating, and is home to the Canton Victory Hockey Association (youth ages 5-17 years old), Canton High School Boys Varsity and JV Hockey, Plymouth-Canton-Salem Girls High School Unified Hockey Team, University of Michigan D3 Club Hockey, Concordia College Men and Women's Hockey teams and the Arctic Edge Adult League.
In addition to the numerous skating programs the Arctic Edge has to offer, we are also home to Total Performance Training Center, The Lab Baseball, and Orthosport Physical Therapy to meet all the needs of today's athlete. We offer open skating, birthday parties, sticks and pucks and drop in figure skating for our guests. Arctic Edge also hosts The Edge Eats concession stand and Detroit Custom Skate Shop, a full service proshop which serves the needs of over the 1 million people who visit the arena annually.
